Pakistani Association of Canterbury, New Zealand, pleased to launch a quarterly community gazette, “Pak Kāheti”. This will be the voice of common ordinary Pakistanis, who work here with absolute dedication, commitment and are still unknown. This 21st century is all about reaching out. This realisation brought the inception of “Pak Kāheti”, where we aimed to reach out to a wider community and exhibit Pakistani culture, customs, and materials of common interests. “Pak Kāheti” will showcase our fellow Pakistanis and their achievements. In addition, it will promote Pakistani tourism and products. Effectively it will be a digital face of our Pakistanis residing in Canterbury, and Pakistan in general. We hope that it will make a difference in the long term.

The honourable High Commissioner H.E. Murad Ashraf Janjua invited the families of the 15th March victims, and Pakistan Association of Canterbury New Zealand (PACNZ) on Saturday 13th of March 2021.
The High Commissioner paid his respect to the martyr’s families and ensured all type of support to the families. Constructive discussion was held with PACNZ Committee, and areas of cooperation were identified. The honourable High Commissioner very kindly advised the committee on various matters. Few immediate issues were highlighted and the High Commissioner guaranteed his full commitment to resolve them. Zaran Banoori has been appinted as PACNZ Youth Ambassador. We wish him all the best for his role, and we are positive that he will serve the community in the best possible way.
Dear Community members, as you are aware that PACNZ conducted their Election Process recently and as a result I would like to introduce our new team and their respective Portfolios. Please do get in touch if you need any assistance. We would like to acknowledge the efforts of previous committee members who served us in last two years, that were the toughest years for us as a community, first post 15th March and then Covid in 2020.
Thank You once again!! ALONE, WE CAN DO SO LITTLE; TOGETHER WE CAN DO SO MUCH” By Helen Keller Asalam-O-Alaikum everyone,
PACNZ Executive Committee would like to thank you all for taking time of your busy schedules and attending yesterday's (14th July 2019) AGM and Elections event. Below please find agenda items of the AGM and the list of newly elected members of PACNZ Executive Committee for the year 2019 and 2020 (more on that) AGM Meeting Agenda
Election 2019 and forming of PACNZ New Executive Committee: First of all, we would like to thank our election convener Mr. Khawaja Mansoor sahib for taking time out and convening the election in an orderly manner (as always). Below are names of elected members along with their respective positions:
We warmly welcome the newly elected members of the committee and wish them all the best for the future. 5th of May marks the end of PACNZ Tape Ball Tournament 2018 Autumn Season. We have seen some really good performances today in the final two games with Habib Marwat hitting 7 sixes (and a 50), Mirxa Nasir hitting 6 sixes, Asim Cheema 42 not out knock, and two brilliant catches by Khawaja Bilal.
Today two games were played, one play-off and one final. Play-off was played between Paki Tigers and Mast Malang. Mast Malang batted first and score 90. It was a tight game, but at the end Paki Tigers were able to chase the total in the last over, and qualified for the Finals to face Eagles. Man of the Match for play-off was Yasir Amin. In the final game Paki Tigers won the toss and elected to bat. Thanks to Yasir Amin, Syed Umair Mirxa Nasir batting, they gave a mammoth target of 113 for Eagles to chase. Eagles start was slow, and due to loss of early wickets the target seemed unlikely to be achieved. The captain of Eagles team Habib Marwat took charge and tried his level best to help his team cross the winning line by hitting 7 sixes (completing his 50 on the way). But, Eagles fell short and were unable to chase the total, handing the trophy/medals to Paki Tigers, who won the game convincingly. Prize distribution ceremony was held after the games, and following awards were distributed: Player of the Tournament: Yasir Amin (3 times Man of the Match) Most Sixes: Habib Marwat (17 Sixes) Most Wickets: Umair Maqbool (5) Most Catches: Sardar Faisal (5) MVP of Team A-Team: Waqas Naveed MVP of Team UC PSA: Bilal MVP of Team Mast Malang: Asim Cheema MVP of Team Eagles: Nadeem Aslam MVP of Team Paki Tigers: Yasir Amin First of all I would like to thank each and every one of you who participated in the tournament, and also to those who came to watch the games :). I have not seen so many Pakistanis (45 + atleast), turn up on Saturday morning to play a game that we all love.
Thank you very much team captains for organizing your teams and matches, you made my job alot easier today. Now, coming to the outcome of the tournament... We were hopeful that we will finish the tournament in a day, but, it was slightly tough (for everyone) to play more than 4 (45 min each) back to back games. Therefore, the Playoff and Final will be played on 28th of April 2018. Today we saw some really good batting, bowling and fielding performances by many players. After the end of the league games, three out of the 5 games were tied for the first spot with 6 points each. Based on the Head-to-Head rule, we tried to separate them, but, we couldn't. Then, we had to use the Net Run Rate rule to separate them, and after that following is how the league table looks like now: 1. Eagles (W=3, L=1, Pts=6, NRR=3.10) 2. Mast Malang (W=3, L=1, Pts=6, NRR=1.606) 3. Paki Tigers (W=3, L=1, Pts=6, NRR=1.562) 4. A-Team (W=1, L=3, Pts=2, NRR=-2.88) 5. UC PSA (W=0, L=4, Pts=0, NRR=-3.09) On 28th of April 2018, we will have a Playoff game between Mast Malang and Paki Tigers. Winner will play against Team Eagles in the final. That's all folks!!! Thank you once again Asalam-O-Alaikum everyone,
