![]() In this picture you see the party that went on the tracking trip to Otira Valley in Arthurs Pass on Waitangi Day 2014. We took the 45 minute track to the foot bridge. The young ones and youngs at heart stopped at the end of marked track at the foot bridge. The courageous ones went about 30-40 minutes further up on 'mountaineering only' track. Hope everyone had fun. Those who missed out this time, keep your eyes an ears open for the news about next trip!!!

Pakistani community in Christchurch celebrated Pakistan day today with a great deal of zeal and vigour. The ceremony was held at Harvard Community Lounge in Wigram. It started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. A presentation was run to educate the young ones about the culture and heritage of Pakistan. This was followed by a quiz competition which generated a lot of excitement among the children. As always the attendees enjoyed great sampling of Pakistani delicacies topped up by a magnificient and delicious cake decorated with the colors of the Pakistan's flag.
Canterbury region has been blessed with a glorious summer this year. This provided a perfect backdrop for a grand BBQ for our members. The event was held in the Groynes park. Check out our photo gallery for a glimpse of what happened.
PACNZ members welcomed the new year with a picnic in Spencer Park picnic grounds next to the Spencerville beach. It was a great day for the kids with New Year Carnival in full swing next to the picnic site. The adults had their share of fun with a session of cricket squeezed in between lunch and afternoon tea.
